Community Mental Health Services
There are 3 Mental Health Teams in Doncaster serving the North, South and Central areas of the town. The teams consist of Consultant Psychiatrists, Mental Health Social Workers, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Behavioural Therapist and Occupational Therapist. The teams are multi professional in nature in order to try to ensure that the needs of all the people with a mental health problem are met.

The Acute Psychiatric in-patients facilities are now located in the Mental Health Unit on the St. Catherine's Hospital site. There are Community Based Resource Centres that offer support for people with mental health problems and provide a wide range of activities, including social, vocational, personal and employment opportunities. There is also a variety of support offered by locally and nationally based voluntary groups.

Referrals are usually made by Consultants, Pyschiatrists or General Practitioners but people are welcome to make enquiries at any of the offices for advice on how to access the service for initial help.
