Description: ACE works with adults with learning disabilities offering training, work experience and paid employment in the field of horticulture.
They also offer a gardening service for the general public at a reasonable rate. Please contact ACE for further information.

Eligibility:Disabled and older people in the Doncaster Borough.
Referral: Self, Health or Social Professional, friend or relative.
Cost: Free labour, but there is a charge for materials.
Description:
A team of craftsmen who carry out small repairs and maintenance jobs within people's own homes and gardens to help prevent accidents and maintain safety and independence. The service is available to older and disabled people who are unable to do the work themselves or who do not have any family or friends who could assist them. There is no charge for labour but you will have to provide the materials to do the job. Please note that not all work is covered by this service. Please contact DRASS for further information.

Eligibility: Over 60 years old and/or disabled, must be a council tenant.
Cost: This service is FREE.
Description:
The Local Council is able to offer garden maintenance for some elderly or disabled tenants who are not able to carry out the work themselves. To qualify you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be over 60 years old and/or disabled.
  • Physically unable to do the work yourself.
  • Have no-one living with you or within reasonable distance that is able to help maintain your garden.
  • You must be a council tenant.

The garden maintenance covers the cutting of grass and any hedges but does not include the maintenance of bushes, shrub beds and trees. Description:
The service provides grass cutting, border tidying, shrubs pruning etc. They offer a free no obligation quote and all work is guaranteed. Small home maintenance jobs e.g. fitting of curtain poles is offered too.

Can provide a basic gardening service including: mowing the lawn, weeding, collecting leaves, cutting borders or edging and planting flowers. This is a chargeable service and there would be additional costs for supply of flowers/compost.
