Adult Community Mental Health Services
The Trust provides assessment and treatment in-patient services, but also offers a range of out-patient services in the community. There are Community Mental Health bases in Doncaster that cover all of the borough. The teams consist of Consultant Psychiatrists, Mental Health Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychological Therapists and approved Mental Health Professionals.

The Acute Psychiatric in-patient facilities are now located within the Mental Health Unit at St Catherine's Hospital Site. Ther is also a variety of support offered by locally and nationally based voluntary groups.

The Recovery team provides interventions for service users who experience psychosis and have complex needs. The Social Inclusion team provides interventions for service users who have experienced psychosis and require support to maintain well being.

The Community Therapies team provides interventions for service users with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. The Intensive Community Therapies team  provides interventions for service users with severe depression and anxiety related disorders, including personality disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

A Community Team divided into 4 sectors: East, West, North and Central. Providing a range of Mental Health Services for adults aged 65 and over, and a Young Onset Dementia Service for people under 65 with a diagnosis of Dementia. In addition, a Care Home Liaison Team who provide support, training and advice to care homes across Doncaster.

Eligibility: deaf people with mental health needs aged 16-65 yrs.
Referral: GP, Sensory Team DMBC, local mental health teams.

The service covers Doncaster, Barnsley, Rotherham and Sheffield. Works in conjunction with local secondary care mental health teams to assess, support and provide interventions for deaf people who have a mental health need. The team includes a CPN and support worker. All members of the team can sign in British Sign Language (BSL) and have experience of working with deaf people.

Eligibility: 16yrs+ who have mental health issues, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias.
Referral: GP, Health Worker/Professional, Voluntary Organisation or Self.

Offers a stepped care approach to delivery of low intensity psychological therapies. Provide support, therapy and guidance at a time when patients need it most. Promotes mental health well-being. Appointments are face to face and via telephone sessions. Care packages are developed on an individual basis.

Advises on most forms of mental health problems. Day centre run on a drop-in basis. Provides activities. Also have a Counselling and Befriending Service and Support Housing Service.

The Doncaster branch provides support for people with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, and for their families and carers. There is a Tandem Café at the Linney Centre, Balby, Tandem Lunch Clubs situated throughout the Doncaster Borough (please contact for current list of locations). Home visits and telephone support is provided.
