Title of Role: Handyperson/Maintenance Volunteer

Purpose of the Role:
To perform general low maintenance tasks at all the DIAL sites (main office and charity shops) and to routinely valet the charity vehicles internally and externally to maintain the professionalism of the organisation.

Main Activities/ Tasks:

• Routinely valet the organisation's delivery vans and people carrier prior to and after any hire period
• To maintain and sanitise the organisation's wheelchairs prior to and after any hire period
• To perform low maintenance tasks e.g. changing light bulbs and to ensure that the main entrance to the organisation is kept clean and tidy at all times
• To externally valet the High Dependency Unit prior to and after any hire period

Qualities/Experience/Skills:
Good communication skills are essential to fulfil this role. Being able to work as part of a team environment is essential. No experience is necessary but some knowledge of low maintenance tasks would be useful to the role.

Training:
Full in-house training will be given which would include Moving and Handling and Health and Safety Training.  Any further training may be sourced where appropriate.
