High Hopes Adventures

Address: Powdermills Princetown Yelverton Devon PL20 6SP
Tel: 01822 880 277
Description:

Adventure holidays for disabled people worldwide including canoeing, expeditions, trekking and mountaineering.

Aims/Activities:

For 2012 they are running four exciting adventure holiday trips. These trips are designed for those with some disability which prevents them from joining mainstream adventure activities. The object is to give the 'Adventurers' a sense of achievement and to encourage more independence and self-confidence and above all to have fun. If you are up for an adventure, but need that extra hand to enable you to take part, then this could well be the trip for you!

The only requirements needed to take part are a keen sense of adventure, a willingness to try something different and a good sense of humour!!

Dart Valley Multi-activity Experience:

An adventure based on the banks of the River Dart which starts with a gentle paddle in canoes on the river to our secluded riverside campsite. We have our own private campsite with basic structures to sleep and cook in. Here we will experience wild camping, cook on an open fire and learn some basic bushcraft skills.

Tarka Trail Adventure:

A new six day adventure based in the beautiful North Devon Countryside. Cycling for up to 10 miles a day on bikes, special trikes or tandems they explore the stunning scenery under expert and qualified guidance. For this trip you will be camping in campsites just off the Tarka Trail, Devon.

River Wye Canoe Exploration:

A six day adventure based at Preston on Wye where you will camp, each day you will be launching from Witney-on-Wye. The river Wye flows through some of the most pleasant Welsh border country. The river is teeming with bird life - swans, ducks and sand martins galore. June/July is probably the best time to canoe the Wye when the weather is generally settled and the cygnets and ducklings are only a few weeks old.

Spanish Activity Experience:

Following the success of recent trips they have decided to visit the lovely mountain village of Sella again. Staying in a 300 year old farmhouse surrounded by typical Spanish terraces with oranges, lemons and avocado trees, giving a real old style Spanish feel. It is an ideal base for canoeing, exploring the countryside, climbing and having fun. There will be plenty of time to relax and swim after the days activities.
