Office for Disability Issues
The Office for Disability Issues works across government to ensure equality becomes a reality for disabled people.
Aims: By 2025, disabled people in Britain should have the same opportunities and choices as non-disabled people to improve their quality of life and be respected and included as equal members of society.
- They coordinate, seeking the big picture, spotting the gaps and the synergies and keeping things on track.
- They create, and encourage innovation, making interventions, developing solutions, plugging the gaps.
- They collaborate, listening, involving, challenging, educating, learning and harnessing expertise.
- They communicate, and ensure others are heard, building relationships, raising awareness, winning hearts and minds.
