Shaw Trust is a National Charity which supports disabled and disadvantaged people to prepare for work, find jobs and live more independently.
Aims: We believe that everyone has the right to work and we have campaigned for 30 years to turn our vision into reality. Every year we work with over 75,000 clients who face barriers due to disability, ill health or social circumstance. Thousands of employers and public sector organisations also benefit from our range of services for businesses. We are the UK's largest third sector provider and one of the Government's lead partners in the delivery of employment programmes for disabled and disadvantages people.
Activities: We work in partnership with public sector organisations to develop and deliver effective social care services which empower people to live more independent lives. We provide a range of diversity management services for business including recruitment, help to retain valued staff, ensuring websites are accessible to all and much more. During our 29 years as a registered charity, we have supported over 40,000 people to change their lives through work and greater independence.
Local Groups: Over 80 shops within the UK. In addition to donated goods, shops sell new goods including items made by disabled people.
