Speakability (Part of the Stroke Assosiation)
Supports people with Aphasia who have lost their speech and language following a stroke, head injury, brain tumour or other neurological illness.
Aims: To work with people with aphasia to help them overcome the barriers they face.
- Runs a national network of self-help groups.
- Organises training workshops and conferences.
- Runs a free Helpline and information service and campaigns for better services for people with aphasia.
- Influencing individuals, organisations and statutory bodies in order to improve services for people living with aphasia.
