Elifar Foundation, The
The Elifar Foundation is a charity run almost entirely by volunteers. It aims to help improve the quality of life mainly of profoundly disabled children and young adults, whether living at home or in residential care, but we will also consider applications from children and adults of all ages with any form of physical or learning disability.
We fund the purchase of a wide range of specialised equipment, therapies and respite, which would otherwise be unavailable because of a lack of funds or because there is no statutory provision.
Aims: To promote the care, protection, welfare, interest, treatment, education and advancement of children, young persons and adults with any form of physical and/or mental disability.
- They make grants for appropriate individuals covering a wide range of mainly specialised equipment, from manual and powered wheelchairs, specialised trikes, seating and sleep systems, to communication aids and sensory toys, also specialised holidays and some therapies
- Elifar Foundation do not fund things for which there is a statutory funding. They do not fund computers, building work, garden works, domestic items or white goods
