Major provider of specialist services for young people with epilepsy.
Aims: To provide education, treatment and care for children and young people with epilepsy and other special needs.
- Working in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust, Young Epilepsy offers tailored programmes bringing together education, treatment and care for more than 200 students aged from 5 - 19.
- Offering assessment services for children with severe epilepsy and neuro-disabilities in partnership with the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust, which is designed to provide holistic assessment. A consultancy led multi-disciplinary team work with the young person, their families or carers for six weeks to provide a detailed report and recommendations including medical, social, educational and behavioural aspects.
- Young Epilepsy operates at St Piers, a specialist school and further education college for individuals with epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Students attend from across the UK on both a day and residential basis.
- Young Epilepsy operates a helpline for anyone needing information about epilepsy and how it affects young people on 01342 831 342 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
