Eligibility: Young people aged 13 - 19 for statutory connexions service, upto 25 with disabilities. Some adult career advice services also.
Referral: By phone, drop in or via school/college.
Accessibility: Level entrance, lift in building.
Cost: Free service for young people, some adult services may be charged.
Description:
Impartial advice and guidance for young people, their parents and carers. Specialist advice to those with learning difficulties and disabilities. Assistance in finding jobs, further education and training. Information available re: voluntary work opportunities, constructive use of leisure time.
Talks given to interested parties on work of Connexions Service and Careers Adult Services.
Nord Anglia Lifetime Development (Formerly Lifetime Careers) provide the Careers Guidance and Support elements of the Connexions Service under contract to DMBC.
Home visits possible where necessary.
Adult Services in Careers Guidance (e.g. redundancy counselling etc.) available to employers on a charged basis.
