Eligibility: Pre-School children with development delay
Referral: Pediatricians, Educational/Clinical psychologist.
Access: Community Medical Officers
Description:
Home teaching service for families with pre-school children with a significant development delay.
It helps parents to teach their own children in their own homes with the support of a "home visitor" on a weekly basis.
Progress is documented by both parents and home visitor who report to Co-ordinator.
Co-ordinator in turn report to senior representatives from the local authority and Health Authority to monitor the progress of the Unit.
The scheme helps parents with what to teach and how to teach it.
