Support organisation for deafblind people of all ages.

Aims:
To seek to enhance the quality of life for all deafblind people and to help them become as independent as possible.

Activities:

  • Early diagnosis for babies, children and adults.
  • Provides educational support for children and families.
  • Provides information on deafblindness, advice and practical support.
  • Assessing the needs of individual deafblind people in order to help identify appropriate services and support.
  • Holidays for deafblind children and young people geared towards their needs and interests.
  • A nationwide network of homes promoting supported living for deafblind adults.
  • Groundbreaking employment schemes.
  • Specialist staff providing one-to-one help to enable deafblind people to continue living independently.
  • Support for local initiatives overseas by promoting training, advice and resources.
  • Raises awareness of deafblindness and provides information on the main causes, such as Rubella and Usher Syndrome.
  • Campaigns to ensure that legislation recognises the specific need of deafblind people.
