Provider of information and services for people with visual impairments.

Aims:
To provide free, impartial information and advice on all issues connected with visual impairment to blind and partially sighted people, their families, friends and carers and professionals and service providers.

Activities:

  • Information, advice and welfare rights service.
  • Financial help.
  • Mobile Information Service.
  • Legal advice.
  • Care homes for elderly people.
  • Housing schemes for independent living.
  • Sheltered workshops and training.
  • Visual awareness training.
  • Runs four hotels specifically for visually impaired people, their families and friends.
  • Helps to create sporting opportunities for blind and partially sighted people.
  • Your choice, an innovative initiative run by Action for Blind People, enables visually impaired people of all ages to enjoy the home environment of their choice.
  • Increasing the number of Action for Blind People Teams across the UK which offer "full service" support to blind and partially sighted people.
  • Improving employment opportunities for blind and partially sighted people via their Employment Teams, and Visage - the UK and European employment project led by Action.
  • Opening more Actionnaires sports clubs for visually impaired children.
