Description:
Supplies customised mobility equipment to those under 18 years old.

Aims:

  • To improve the quality of life of disabled children and young people by providing customised mobility equipment - such as wheelchairs and tricycles - that is unavailable from the NHS.
  • To provide help and advice to the children and their families and raise awareness of mobility-related issues through national campaigning.

Activities:

  • Whizz-Kidz qualified occupational or physiotherapists assess children's individual clinical, educational and social requirements for mobility equipment.
  • Children and young people under the age of 18 with mobility disabilities are eligible for help.
  • Whizz-Kidz identifies the best equipment for each individual. Equipment ranges from £500.00 for an adapted tricycle to £16,000.00 for a powered wheelchair.
  • Together with Charitable Trusts, sponsorship and fund-raising activities, purchases mobility equipment including lightweight, powered and sports wheelchairs, trikes and walkers.
