Eligibility: Persons with a Physical or Sensory Disability between 16-65, living in the Rotherham area.
Transport: Community Transport to activities if available.
Access: Good wheelchair access.
Cost: Mostly free but sometimes a small charge for workshops.
Description:
Enables local people to live a life of their choice by volunteers assisting participants to achieve what they want out of life.
They believe in Equality, Choice and Opportunity for all, no one is excluded.
They listen and respond to what disabled people want out of life and help them to try to achieve it for themselves.
They help to try to achieve the ordinary things of life most people take for granted, i.e. Leisure, Sport, Education, Training, Employment, Accommodation, Transport and Friendship.
Weekly Arts & Crafts group on Friday afternoons
Weekly social activities/games/quizzes/Bingo etc. on Monday afternoons.
Alternative health, demonstrations, poetry reading, arts & crafts activities.
Social Outings Club at various times.
Various training courses for volunteers and disabled participants.
