Description:
Support group for families with children with a brain injury.
Previously known as: Rescue Foundation for the Brain Injured Infant.

Aims:

  • To ensure that up to date, evidence-based knowledge is available and applied in the UK for the prevention of brain damage and for proven treatment following injury.
  • To reduce the incidence of brain injury in human infants.

Activities:

  • Co-ordinating the national and international parent network "Parent Support" (previously called "PARNET") offering support, information and research.
  • Telephone helpline service.
  • Information, advice, legal service.
  • Grants scheme.
  • Online e-learning.
  • Postal lending service.
  • Children's personal portfolio.
  • Holiday House.
  • Support services.
  • Funds research projects into the causes and treatment for brain injuries.
  • Organises a range of training seminars, workshops and projects for parents, professionals and children themselves.
  • Runs a number of projects on subjects such as:
    • Causes and prevention.
    • Therapy evaluation.
    • New therapy innovation.
    • Information service.
    • Parent network activities.
