Description:
Counselling and support service for men abused as boys, men raped as adults and male partners of victims of rape or abuse.
"Survivors" currently deals with an average of 15 calls per week, in their telephone helpline session of two and a half hours, (6:00 pm - 8:30 pm Thursday evening). Its small number of volunteers provide an average of two hours weekly additional support, by telephone, to men who call the helpline.
Many of their referrals are from men in real crisis who have been unable to access appropriate help, or from professionals equally frustrated.
Self-help pack available free to clients. Agencies can purchase multiple copies from "Survivors" at a cost of £5.00 per copy with discounts on bulk orders.
