Aims:

• To encourage and finance research into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of hearing difficulties.
• To educate people about hearing problems and their treatment, offering information and advice based on the most up-to-date and reliable evidence available.

Activities:
Supporting the most promising research aimed at preventing and treating deafness and other hearing problems including:

• Basic research into sensorineural hearing loss.
• Early detection of deafness.
• OME (glue ear).
• The genetics of deafness.
• Improving performance of hearing aids.
• Cochlear implants.
• Tinnitus.
• Hyperacusis.
