Description:
Support group for people with facial disfigurement.

Aims:

  • To help those who are facially disfigured, their loved ones, the professionals who care for them, and the communities in which they live, to understand and solve the problems of living with this disability.
  • To offer the hand of friendship on a one to one basis and help people with facial disfigurement to build the courage to face life again.
  • To assist people with facial disfigurement to share their experiences, struggles and hopes, and help them build the courage to face life again.
  • To educate the public to value the person behind every face.

Activities:

  • Links families, friends and professionals within a network of support and advice.
  • Links those networks to other helpful organisations and support groups.
  • Holds regular social events and fundraising activities for members of the network.
  • Educates medical, nursing and allied health professionals with regard to the needs of people with facial disfigurement.
