Description:
Confidential service which enables the public to report benefit fraud.

Aims:
To provide a confidential service by which members of the public can pass on details of those claiming benefits illegally.

Activities:
Government service which provides a confidential way for the public to pass factual information about suspected fraudulent benefit claimants to the Department of Works and Pensions. This includes benefits administered by local authorities.
Callers need to provide as much information as they can about those they suspect and why they think they are committing benefit fraud.
The hotline can be contacted in the following ways:

  • Online by completing the "report a cheat" online form.
  • By phone/textphone in confidence.
