Description:
Provides support and information for people with a birthmark.
Aims:
- To provide support and information to anyone of any age and their relatives affected by a birthmark (including port wine stain, haemangioma and congenital melanocytic naevus).
- To raise awareness amongst the medical profession about the correct treatment of birthmarks.
- To raise awareness of birthmarks amongst the general public so that social interaction is managed with the appropriate care and understanding.
Activities:
- Contact with other people and families with similar birthmarks.
- Organising regular family days.
- Also runs an additional support group within the main group for younger members aged 11 - 21 years, called "Teentalk".
- Website which is regularly updated with the group's activities and provides links to other relevant organisations.
Membership:
Free and currently restricted to the UK only.
