Designs home-based rehabilitation programmes for brain-injured people.
The Centre for Rehabilitation and Development is an independent rehabilitation service which is run by the charity, Brainwave.
Aims:
To use a multi-faceted approach to overcome the developmental difficulties associated with brain injury.
Activities:
- Designs home-based programmes of rehabilitation for brain injured people involving a series of physical and cognitive exercises. Advises parents/carers/volunteers in order to carry out this process. Most of those treated are children but the centre also works with people who have had strokes and traumas.
- The centre aims to complement rather than replace services already offered such as physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy.
- Also provide short residential therapy.
