Description:
Charity working to prevent infant deaths and promote baby health.

Aims:
To work to find the cause and finally the means of preventing cot deaths.

Activities:

• Raises funds for research into cot deaths and their prevention.
• Supports families who have experienced a cot death. Also provides infant care advice to parents.
• Provides information relating to cot deaths and raises general awareness through regional meetings and campaigns.
• Xare of Next Infant (CONI) programme to help parents work through some of their fears. CONI is run in hospitals and community health centres and involves midwives, paediatricians, GPs and health visitors.
• Promoting information on how to reduce the risk of cot death to health professionals and the public.
• Telephone support and information.
