Offers practical help, friendship and support to those with Rett Syndrome and their families.
Rett Syndrome is a complex neurological disorder that occurs mostly in females resulting in profound and multiple disability.
Aims:
To promote greater understanding of the syndrome amongst professionals, and support parents and carers.
Activities:
Gives help, advice and support to parents, carers, siblings, professionals and anybody involved with a child or adult who has Rett syndrome.
Services include:
- Information to families and professionals.
- Specialist clinics.
- Regional days.
- Family weekend conference.
- Facilitating local support groups throughout the UK.
- Raising funds for research.
- Family Support Workers to advise and support families.
- Development of centres for diagnosis and management.
- Liaison with multi-disciplinary team of experts.
