Provides recreational facilities for disabled ex-servicemen and women.

Aims:
To help disabled ex-service men and women nation-wide. The aim is to enhance the quality of their lives and give them something to which they can look forward to.

Activities:
They provide the following facilities:

  • TV sets for those whose mobility is restricted or who are largely housebound and licences may be provided if the need arises.
  • Holidays, accompanied by carers if required.
  • Day outings, including canal and river trips, excursions to museums, exhibitions and other places of interest, public and sporting events, tattoos, displays etc.
  • In-house entertainments and concerts for those in residential homes.

In addition HM The Queen graciously allows the Association to hold a summer party in the grounds of Buckingham Palace each year and a Christmas party in the state appartments of St. James's Palace. Invitations to these parties are restricted to war pensioners (accompanied by carers if required).

Applications for assistance are generally made through SSAFA Forces Help, The Royal British Legion, Combat Stress or the Welfare Service of the War Pensions Agency.
