Description:
Supports research and patient care relating to testicular cancer.

Aims:

  • To support research and patient care relating to young men with testicular cancer.
  • To support research to include cancers of the prostate and of the bladder.

Activities:
The Trust supports the work of the Professional Unit of the Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology at the Royal Marsden NHS Trust, Sutton, Surrey.

  • Works to improve methods of detection and treatment, to identify cancer genes, and ultimately to eradicate male cancers. Funds research projects, thereby opening the way to early investigation of any potential advances in treatment.
  • Areas od research support include the risk of cancer development within families, the testing of high dose chemotherapy techniques with bone marrow transplantation, fertility after treatment, psychological support of cancer patients and new forms of radiotherapy.
