Support and advice for people affected by road traffic accident.
Aims:
- To provide emotional and practical support to those bereaved and injured by road traffic accidents.
- To raise awareness of dangers on the road and encourage their reduction.
- To conduct research into road danger and the impact of road death and injury.
Activities:
- Helpline for victims offering emotional and practical support.
- Self-help for victims.
- Promotion of Remembrance Services.
- Educational programmes, including talks in schools and workplaces.
- Advice for the Police and Emergency Services.
- Public awareness raising through the media.
- Strategies for reducing road danger.
- Representation on behalf of road victims.
- Campaigns to improve the law for actual and potential victims.
- Input to transport/safety and victim forums, also legal parliamentary bodies.
