Description:
Supports deaf people in the developing countries of the Commonwealth.

Aims:
To work in partnership with developing countries within the Commonwealth to increase awareness of and assist in the prevention and treatment of deafness among children.

Activities:

  • Working with Commonwealth Governments, and their national association and institutes which care for deaf people.
  • Training individual teachers of deaf people, audiologists and audiology maintenance technicians.
  • Providing hearing aids, audiological and educational equipment.
  • Preventing deafness via research projects.
  • Development of and delivery of simple, cost-effective treatments for infective middle ear disease in developing countries.
