Description:
Provider of face to face interpreting, telephone interpreting and translation services.
Aims:
To enable subscribers to communicate almost immediately with people who do not speak English.
Activities:
Subscribers are issued a pocket sized language identification card bears the message "Point to your language". An interpreter would then be made available to clients on the phone in these most-requested languages.
Once the language of the organisation's client had been discovered the client can call Language Line who will connect them with one of more than three thousand trained interpreters.
All interpreters operate according to a strict code of ethics and, if requested, a female interpreter can be contacted.
The service is available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
