Description:
Their mission is to help disabled people communicate and participate in day-to-day activities most people take for granted. They do this by recycling computers, giving disabled people an alternative means of keeping in touch.
Aims:
Their aim is to supply PCs to the disabled and housebound including those centres, clubs, schools and other organisations that serve the disabled.
Activities:
- They build complete Internet ready Multimedia PCs using new and secondhand parts for distribution throughout the UK.
- They specialise in supplying the disabled home user (including those with learning difficulties), the housebound, elderly and many other agencies, organisations and charities that help the disabled.
- They have worked closely with both social services and other Government departments. They also offer free PC advice on best buys, where and what to buy, and what to avoid.
- They also offer basic PCs for free. These are ideal for those simply wishing to use they for typing.
Costs:
The only thing they ask people is that they cover the costs of the parts they use to make the PC to their full specification and needs.
