Motoring and travel advice to disabled people, their carers and advisers.
The DMF is a federation of self-governing disable motor ist clubs. Whereas local member organisations can deal with local issues, the DMF deals with national companies, councils and governments and helps people to set up their own independent local clubs.
Aims:
- To relieve disabled people by assisting them to overcome their handicaps and to become as independent as possible so that they may lead fuller and more active lives.
- To encourage intergration with society and universal acceptance of disabled people at all levels.
- To seek wherever possible, improvements in facilities available to all disabled people and ensure that their needs are considered in every aspects of daily life.
- To promote the implementation of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act.
- To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupations.
- To promote the establishment of and encourage the support of independent disabled motorists clubs.
Activities:
- Campaigning for the rights of disabled drivers and passengers.
- Members have access to the National Service Network for convenient car servicing and repairs.
- Members can obtain discounts on hotel bookings and other concessions on insurance, legal advice etc.
