Eligibility: People over the age of 18 years with Learning Disabilities within DMBC area.
Referral: By phone, letter, e-mail, or self from carers, staff, family etc.
Access: Work on outreach, will visit at home/elsewhere.
Cost: Free.
Description:
Doncaster Advocacy works to encourage and support adults who have a learning disability to 'speak out'.
Advocacy is about having information, making choices and being treated as an equal person.
Doncaster Advocacy offers individual issue-based advocacy and drop in sessions at Day Centres.
Self-advocacy groups are supported by staff and volunteers.
Doncaster Advocacy campaigns for accessible information for people to have more say in services they receive.
