Calibre Audio Library
A national charity which offers a subscription-free audio book service for adults and children who have sight problems, dyslexia or another disability which prevents them from being able to read text.
Aims: Calibre Audio Library brings the pleasure of reading to people who have sight problems, dyslexia or other disabilities through a free, nationwide postal service of recorded books.
Activities: Offers a choice of 6,600 digital titles, available on MP3, CD, USB memory stick or the new online streaming service.
There are two membership options available:
- Option One - Members can enjoy a lifetime of free audio books for a one-off fee of £35.00
- Option Two - A member pays the joining fee plus a choice of two USB memory sticks - 'Kings Audio Sovereign' (£67) or 'Laplock Technology Boombox plus' (£65)
A free trial period is available to those who are new to the service.
Publications: Audio newsletter published twice a year.
